It was 96 in Portland today! Wanna hear a funny story? We have the Rose Festival here which takes place every year. Rides, parades, concerts, etc. Well, because Oregonians never get sun, most of us don't seem to know how to take care of ourselves in this type of weather. Every single ambulance in Portland was on stand-by today because so many people were passing out and almost dying because of the heat.

Is it really that hard for sun deprived Oregonians to remember to drink water?

Out here, being in the hot sun with a rather high UV index is the norm.
Anything else can only be considered as unusual.
