This morning I went with my brothers down to Clarence Center to stand outside in the freezing cold for solidarity. The Westboro Baptist Church was scheduled to stand outside the memorial service at the Clarence Center coffee house with their "God Hates (insert just about anything here)" propaganda. As much as I despise the WBC, I think what they force everyone else to do - i.e. band together despite our differences to oppose them - is wonderful.

I know! I was thinking exactly the same thing when I was standing outside this morning. It was such a high spirited gathering, that I almost wished there would be other times I'd be able to band together with my neighborhood to discourage the WBC. Then I realized that there would have to be a tragedy involved for that to happen, so I refrained and decided to enjoy this while it lasted.
