(Man, now I wish I'd done the same with the PW cases ;A;)
Case 3. Now I can say for certain that it's much, much more interesting than case 2, or 1 for that matter. Pretty intriguing, I was most impressed with that "find the gunshot" through the mixboard thing, my heart really jumped when it turned out my decision to use it was correct. There are some parts I had to make wild guesses too, and it's just me or the music got better? There are still some drawbacks however, such as its super predictability. This is the first time I've ever been able to guess (correctly) what really happened at the crime scene even before Apollo thought to think about it, so the case lost some of its appeal. And some parts are just downright ridiculous - I mean, who is supposed to be able to figure out the difference between verse 1 and 2 anyway, especially with such inconvenient tool for playback :"/. And, oh, the flashbacks, I've even gotten scared of hearing the "Guitar's Serenade" by now. At least why can't it be a better song to listen to ;__;". I have a feeling the end is a bit rushed, maybe I was expecting to "perceive" Daryan,
because of this fanart I stumbled upon the day before (such misleading work) 8"D.
Anyway, it's the best case out of the three so far, and I had fun playing it. But needless to say, still holding no candle to the PW games (the fact that I can calmly write a report without rushing like mad to the next case is proof on its own).
Case 4 - or half of it. I stopped today at having finished "7 years ago - Trial Former".
Let me tell you one thing.
I stand by my original decision. That I do not accept Apollo Justice as canon. A good game, perhaps, with interesting turnouts, but does not belong to the Ace Attorney series.
At FIRST, or at least until Vera fainted, I must say I'd thought "This game is pretty good. At least it doesn't deserve the heavy bashing I've seen all around". I mean, with all what happened in the Vera case, the atroquinine stamp, how Drew Misham actually died, the scanning of the underneath sketch, the fact that Vera is actually the forger, etc, I was able to very much enjoy the game.
Guess I forgot how greater, awesomer Phoenix is.
This morning I'd come round to the tragedy of Phoenix being disbarred, Phoenix having changed greatly, Phoenix, well, having matured. I'm known for my ability to accept things after all - no use crying over spilt milk. And here lies the greatest mistake of Capcom: Putting in Phoenix's last trial in the climax of Apollo Justice. It opens my eyes to how Phoenix was 1. a total different person, needless to say much better, and that he doesn't deserve this. Phoenix doesn't deserve this destruction of character. 2. Generally having much more depth and character and humor and talent and personality and pretty much everything than Apollo. I mean, Apollo is interesting, and I stress, enjoyable, but that's it. He doesn't give me the vibes, the adrenaline like how Phoenix hooked me from his very first case. I don't need pretty graphic, I need my Phoenix.
I guess this sealed the deal then. I don't even need to play the rest (oh but I will. For the sake of completion. After all, it's not that bad a game) to make my decision. For me, the Ace Attorney series ended with Trials and Tribulations, like how it's supposed to be. (Ace Attorney Investigations is a spin-off, so it doesn't count, but I believe I won't be disappointed with that).
Oh, and some reaction bonus (for future reference) - WARNING FOR UTTER FANGIRL RAGE AND INCOHERENCE AND VIETNAMESE

Prue Trudeau: damn you Capcom, die a painful death please, not even Uncle Miles can save you now
Prue Trudeau: how dare you do this to Phoenix
Prue Trudeau: no, I will never accept Apollo Justice and whatever follows it as canon, only a spin off, a game that's only for pastime enjoyment
Prue Trudeau: to me
Prue Trudeau: The Ace Attorney series ends with Trials and Tribulations.
Prue Trudeau: that's. all.
Prue Trudeau: damn, even Ace Attorney Investigations sounds more canon than this
Prue Trudeau: I regret my choice .____.
Prue Trudeau: enjoyable, but damn right bland =___=
Prue Trudeau: bọn Capcom sai lầm khi để 1 case cũ Phoenix ngay trong game Apollo, ta vừa enjoy đc AJ chút tự nhiên chơi với tư cách Phoenix thấy sự khác biệt ngay
