At first I was a bit surprised that CLOD did better than COLD, which seems more natural for setting up your S. However, part of the reason might be the likelihood of an F column play hooking ACOLD, killing the S hook.
Against an opponent that I didn't think would make the correct inference from it, I would at least consider something like CLOND* hoping for a challenge and a vowel to play through. If it doesn't get challenged, you still get some points and keep ES.
There's no need for antics like this here. This is a much better than average starting rack. Don't fritter away your advantage by trying to be too clever.
I would probably phony, maybe CONDLES* or something. Most likely it comes off... if the opponent knows you're up to something, he or she could exchange, in which case you throw back the D or L on your turn. Hopefully they make a play and you have a bingo by then. There are antics and then there is strategy.
