Wow, I had no idea people did that. That message board... it's something else... she said diplomatically. But I still took the damn test, pen and paper. Stupid trivia, luring me in with your super-easy El Pollo Loco and Emma Lazarus and Bart Simpson and Sophocles questions... (Guess what subjects are my best?)
For the record, I got 40 on this one - I HATE geography questions and don't ever know them, so it might have helped if I wasn't missing the part of the brain that comprehends geography, which I think is right next to physics and sports (it should be said, too, that I answered as quickly as I possibly could, pretty much warp speed, just for shits and giggles). That said, just by gut instinct, I think the "passing" score for the online test isn't wicked-crazy high, just reasonable enough to cull the sheep from the real goats for a potential in-person audition (which, as we know, is a crapshoot as to whether you get that far). Just my three cents...
Being Canadian, I'd never heard of El Pollo Loco before tonight's test.
I'm 99.9% sure that the passing score is 35 (I got an audition in 2008 after I scored 36). I picked New York as my audition city (figuring that they usually go there and spend a ton of time there), so I like my chances at getting a callback. Plus, the only time I ever spent in the city was between 5:00 and 8:00 on a Sunday morning on a layover on the way to Philadelphia...
Weirdly, I only knew "El Pollo Loco" from going to LA for my taping - I think it's a U.S. West Coast thing, because I'd never heard of it before we starting see TV ads for it with this bizarre jingle (?) / tagline, where it's just this guy sort of wailing ELPOLLOLOCO really fast. L.A. is weird, dude
