I wonder why Set Yourself on Fire is different from the CD release. Kind of weird looking.

"The European edition, along with the Canadian and U.S. vinyl version, have alternate cover art that suggests the atrocities at Abu Ghraib. The change in cover art could be attributed to the original art's similarity to Explosions in the Sky's The Earth Is Not a Cold Dead Place." wikipedia

Wish I didn't know this actually. Especially as the Abu Ghraib part is a bit of stretch. Particularly as the themes of Set Yourself on Fire don't scream out at me as protest of US torture policy or anything in that area.

"He Lied About Death" is a protest song about the Bush administration, but yeah, I'd rather that the vinyl had the same cover as the CD. In fact, I waited a bit to buy it because it didn't.

The Explosions in the Sky connection is tenuous though. Basically, the cover of that album (which I just started listening to) has handwriting all over it (like the background of your icon). Not exactly an iconic image, especially since more people are aware of Set Yourself on Fire than The Earth Is Not a Cold Dead Place. Oh, and if you're wondering who Explosions in the Sky are, they're the band that does the instrumental scores for Friday Night Lights.
