Useless to say, but...

I think I'd actually give ANYTHING to just magically be able to read Japanese right now. And by *anything*, I ain't fuckin' joking around. =(
I've got over a hundred dollars worth of doujins just sitting here untranslated and I've also managed to get my hands on the end of Fire Candy, which is of course not translated either. And all I can do is ( Read more... )

tsubaki doujinshi, fire candy, manga, general bitterness

:( awww. Even I can't fully read doujinshi yet. Kanji kills. And handwriting does too.

It's funny, I really don't know more than a handful of spoken Japanese...

But I've been attempting to translate my books on my own, and what kills *me* is the grammar. XD I've collected enough resources to where I'm able to find the Kanji meanings and all the Hiragana/Katakana syllables, sokuon-- stuff like that. But when it comes to structuring the sentence in to something even half understandable... forget about it. The verbs absolutely kill me! *_* I'm positive I'd be able to do this stuff if I actually, ya know, went to school and learned it. But. That takes money. Ha...ha... ^_^;

LOL. I just find it a pain in the ass to look everything up; I could if I wanted, either online or using a kanji dictionary. But often I don't have the energy. :) Especially in a novel.

So, is it safe to say you know your Hiragana and grammar enough?

'Cause, ya know, I would totally start asking you to translate my translations for me. XD

The awesome thing about learning Japanese: I'm starting to be able to pick out words and phrases when I "read" doujin.

The not-so-awesome thing?

It's takin' forever to learn Japanese. D: And to be able to, you know, actually read a full doujin? Talk to me in like...five years. Yeah. Seriously. T_T

/pats/ At least you're learning, even if it's slowly. ^_^

It's like I told Lexie above- I'm actually able to translate the kanji and hiragana semi-okay, it's putting everything together using that bastard grammar that kills me. >.< Self-teaching a language like Japanese probably isn't the best of ideas, but when you don't have any money...

Heh heh. School.

You and me both. ;_; It sucks.

I've got one year of Japanese under my belt, and I can understand things here and there. But I've still got a loooong ways to go. I'll persevere, though, because I dream of being able to read all my doujinshi one day.

I also got the final raws to Fire Candy yesterday! *_*

Yes! You got the last chapters at CandyDive? Thats where I got 'em, too. And I just about squealed my lungs right outta my body...

But, the ending... o.O? What the fuck was that?? (would probably be better if I could *read* what they were saying, but that's neither here nor there, right? =p~)
