Just now Barack Obama was elected 44th president of the United States of America.

I can't even begin to tell you what overwhelming joy is filling me right now. I'm even at a loss for words because this means so much. Right now, in this very moment, racial boundaries have been overcome and I feel that we as Americans have taken a great leap forward

But yessss I do feel your excitement~ It's a huge step that America has taken today and even though I'm not American, I feel like I watched the start of something great today =) I couldn't help smiling when I heard the news XD

I think a lot of people were proud regardless of whether or not they were American. We've achieved something not a lot of countries have yet accomplished and it's even more important given our history. After eight long years I'm glad to see something as wonderful as this happen. But oh my god, his speech really got me choked up. He's an excellent orator so I knew that I'd cry a little but his speech was so mind blowingly sincere and beautiful. I'm still tearing up a little at the remembrance.

I'm so glad that Obama won--I've been crossing my fingers you'd choose him to elect in the end, since he seemed the nicest of them all and sure enough, he won. x33 It's really great news that America has overcome the racial boundaries--about time. :3

*glomps* It seems that the whole world celebrated Obama's victory as they should have because America has a fresh face and hopefully one that will show everyone we're not the bullies we've appeared to be for the past eight years. Even now, I'm still so very happy~
