Listen. I'm going to do you a favour here, and let you know that that is a magic journal you have there, and that everyone in the frakking kingdom can read everything you're writing down there. We use these journals to discuss matters of extremely great importance, so I for one would really appreciate it if you didn't clutter it up with tales of your... exploits.

I . . . I don't know what to say. Why was this being sold in a shop for less than what I paid for dinner? And by 'everyone', you mean everyone else with one of these journals, correct? You are not playing a joke? Some of the older entries appear to be penned by leaders of clans and even the Emperor himself.

I don't joke about these kinds of things. It sounds like somebody didn't know what they were selling. Or they had an interest in making sure that you, specifically, got it, for some reason.
