Excuse me . . .

I am sincerely sorry for disturbing you all with my trivialities once again, but I would like to request some assistance.  I am presently outside the recruitment center within the capital of your territories.  They . . . firmly rejected my application.  I believe the technical reason cited was ( Read more... )

*facepalm*

[Edgar writes out a nice document filtered to Ivan's journal, declaring him a guest of the king and then signs and stamps it.]

There, tear this page out of your journal, it should be good.

!

Y-You're much too kind, sir. I -- I should be there within the next twenty minutes. I hope it is not too great of an inconvenience . . .

((Umm, umm. I guess I'll make a new thread here? As a side note, Ivan has the bad habit of reading the minds of people within a close vicinity. If there's anything you want him to read or even if it's just random thoughts in general, feel free to do so.))

[Despite a few misgivings from the guards, Ivan is eventually shown into the receiving chamber, having agreed to leave his staff behind temporarily. It is a weapon, after all. There is a sinking feeling in the pit of his stomach telling him that this wasn't as good of an idea as he thought it was -- What was he thinking, hacking into the journal of Lord Edgar? Like as not, he was going to be thrown into a dungeon for his insolence. On the outside, however, he presents the appearance of a calm youth, his face pleasantly arranged into a placid expression and his arms clasped loosely in front of him.

He awaits the arrival of Edgar . . . ]

[Before the door opened, Ivan felt a mind buzzing with thoughts on a thousand different subjects. It nigh impossible the pick out any one train of thought, although occasionally a clear thought did make it through. The door opened.]

You must be Ivan. He is kind of short. No wonder he got kicked out

Yes, sir.

[Despite the obvious trepidation expressed in his journals, Ivan maintains his composure. He appears to be the type of person who is far more reserved in person than in expressing himself in writing. In his mind, though, he is quite a bit alarmed by the man standing before him -- Not so much because of Edgar's appearance, but because of the intense complexity of the thoughts running through his mind. Ivan tunes down his sixth sense and bows low to the ground.]

It's an honor to meet with you, sir. As I said, I'd like to do whatever I can to aid you and Clan Figaro against the Last Battalion.

It does a man good to know that not everyone thinks I'm wasting my time. Out of curiosity, what can you do? I know you can break through seals on the Tengu Journals, and you said something about a thunderstorm?

Well. It's better to think of it that way, anyway. Are you a member of this clan?

Ah... I don't know if I'm part of the clan, but I work for Edgar-sama.
