Opening Rack My Move Quackle's Move Equity Loss AIMOOOU 8D MIAOU 8D MIAOU 0 DEEIINU Ex. EIU Ex. EIU 0 ANNRTTY 8C TYRANT 8C TYRANT 0 AADENT? 8B AnDANTE 8B AnDANTE 0 Learned a long time ago that Quackle likes putting blanks in higher scoring lines...it makes sense. ABJNQRR Ex. BJQR Ex. BJQR 0 EGHIILN 8D HEILING 8D HEILING 0 BRTTUWY 8H BUTTY 8H BUTTY 0 BEFLRSS 8G REFS 8G SELF 3.7 Possible -ABLE/-IBLE bingos, possible -LESS bingos, trying to direct opponent away from the E with the S on the board maybe 3 times out of 100...Quackle simply likes better leaves. Maybe I outfox myself from time to time. EGIJLRS 8G JIG 8G JIG 0 Maybe if REJIGGLE* were a word, this would be interesting AAEGJOT 8G JATO 8G JOG 0.6 Ehhh. AAEEIIT Ex. AEII Ex. AEII 0 I've simmed opening racks like this before, and retaining AET or even EIT always sims better than ET. Still feels stressful to actually do that in a tournament, though. AAEHOS? 8G HAO 8G HAO 0 I'm more surprised that the two placements of AA were the next two plays in valuation ABEMOY? 8H EMBAY 8H EMBAY 0 AAGIIWY 8G YAGI 8F YAGI 0.4 LLMNSXW Ex. LLMNW Ex. LLMWX 4.6 Even if there's a decent X play after the exchange, I'm likely to be playing small. The X can be an albatross, need to remember that. AAAEFSV 8G FAVA 8G FAVA 0 I generally hate playing an S on an opening rack when it places the S on the center star and only scores 10 or 12 more than retaining it. This gets me in trouble sometimes, especially when the opponent has an S themselves, but this time it's more correct than usual. Even with an opponent S, FAVA offers more counterplay on the next turn. AE can turn sour far too easily as a leave, as well. ADEEIMZ 8D MAIZE 8D MAIZE 0 AIBOOTZ 8D BAZOO 8D BAZOO 0 DEEEJNR 8D JEERED 8D JEERED 0 It sucks when the more fun play, JEREED, is obviously worse. CEKMOV? 8G MOCK 8G MOCK 0 Was tempted to play at 8E, but the possibility of OVER- bingos was too tempting. AIOPRUY 8C PYURIA 8C PYURIA 0 AAEGGIO 8H AGIO 8H AGGIE 1.5 I don't agree with you, Quackle. ADHIIN? 8G HID 8G HID 0 Very close to 8G HI. Quackle unsurprisingly overvalues Exch. I. AEFIORY 8H AERIFY 8G AERIFY 2 I'd like 8G better if I actually had an I towards AERIFYING. I also prefer not to leave a DLS hotspot completely uncontested...having the A in front of the E/DLS doesn't do much, but I think it'll help about as often as it'll make things worse. EILLOOS 8H OLIO 8H OLIO 0 Why did it take 4000 iterations to achieve meaningful separation between this and the 8F placement? AAIIMNO Ex. AIO Ex. AIO 0 I hate every play here. Seriously. I really don't know what I'd do across a board...depends on the opponent, tournament situation, and humidity in the playing room. AHIIITV Ex. IIIV 8G VIA 2.7 I don't mind the equity loss here. Even an exchange going badly fits my overall game better than leaving HIIT for my second rack. BEEJLOP 8D JEBEL 8D JEBEL 0 No simulation needed! ACDGMOP 8D CAMPO 8D CAMPO 0 EEEHISY 8F EYE 8H EYE 0.4 Meh. Too many extensions besides EYESIGHT, Quackle, even though I might draw them too. Also too many hooks into the 2x2 line for my taste. YMMV. AEFGHO? 8G FOG 8G FOG 0 ADTTTYY 8H TATTY 8H TATTY 0 BDEEGII 8D BEIGE 8D BEIGE 0 There is a case to be made for BEEDI...I actually really like it against some players. BIKOORT 8H BROOK 8H BROOK 0 Somewhat inflated as top play given that I'm already two to BROOKITE. AEGILTT 8G GIT 8G GIT 0 This is the kind of rack I can take 5 minutes on and still get it wrong. GINNOVX 8G VOX 8G VOX 0 AHIINW? 8G WHIN 8G WHIN 0 DIINRTV 8D VIRID 8D VIRID 0 AEILOTU 8D LOUIE 8D LOUIE 0 DEEFISW 8D WIFED 8D WIFED 0 ADEELRZ 8F ZED 8G LEZ 0.5 I like to entice my opponents to panic. What can I say? I like the risk/reward ratio here. EEILNOZ 8G ZONE 8E ZONE 3.1 I guess. Hate giving opponents a cheap way to clean up their rack for points, though overlap plays and hooks are just as lucrative. AIIRTTY 8D YTTRIA 8D YTTRIA 0 EEIMPRX 8C EXPIRE 8G PREMIX 5.2 Why should I have any interest in setting up an ING race? Even when a T kills it, I just don't find it appealing. REMIX holding the P in hand looks better than EXPIRE, though. DIMNOPR 8D POIND 8D PRIMO 0.7 ADDRSSY 8D YARDS 8H DRYAD 3.5 I shouldn't miss DRYAD. This is an exception to my “no S on the center star” rule, though. ADRUYZ? 8F ADZ 8F ADZ 0.2 Weird sim. This has the highest win percentage...barely...but lower valuation. YAUD doesn't sim as well, but I'd play that against a lot of people. ADORTTY 8H DOTTY 8H DOTTY 0 EFGKNSS 8G KEFS 8G KEFS 0 AAEGORW 8D WAGER 8D WAGER 0
