and life goes on

Everyone who commented on my last entry- thank you so much. You all mean more to me than you know.

Things that have happened since the weekend-
  • Went to my GP surgery, saw (another) new GP who was thankfully very nice, and agreed that the way I had been treated by the crisis team on Friday night was appalling.  I'm back on meds (did I mention I ( Read more... )

I'm so glad your new GP is good! Also that you have choir - it sounds as if that helps you a lot! *hugs*

Good luck with the choir rehearsal and performance! I think it's really good you have some "extracurricular" to get you out of the house and doing something you love. :)

In my limited knowledge, just comparing what you've said about your feelings and anxieties, I would never say BPD!

It's a more likely diagnosis than you might think, M- I tend to suppress those aspects of my personality with a vengeance, but if I'm extremely distressed (like I am now) there's no hiding the volatility and instability (and anger, oh my god the anger). Plus BPD is usually comorbid with depression and anxiety so I might walk out with more than one diagnosis!

But they may not put that label on me- I think it'll really depend on the skill/experience of the psychiatrist.

Fair enough! I only have a limited knowledge of BPD due to our own research when G was going through a diagnosis process, plus my experience of his behavior. The thing with psychiatry is of course it's very subjective and different practitioners will of course have varying opinions. I'm sorry the NHS has been so utterly crap...we have similar problems, on a smaller scale, in that the GPs have always been so helpful but beyond that there's just never any movement.

I'm glad Rich is off the next couple of weeks to keep you company - hopefully it will be good to spend some time together!

I hope you are able to relax into a non-stressful routine and I hope your trip gives you something you need to help move forward. Good luck with choir!!

I managed to completely miss your earlier post - the problem with trying to keep up with LJ on my phone, I guess - and I'm really sorry I didn't get a chance to comment until now...but I love you, and I think you are a smart, worthy, amazing person, and I know that I am far from the only one who thinks that. I think of you often, and hope very much that the right people come into your life who can help you begin to heal, rather than crumbling under pressure (as the crisis team seems to have done).

Life up this way is pretty insane at the moment, and I've got my own issues with speaking on the phone, but if there's anything I can do, please don't hesitate to email/DM. *massive hugs*
