There's an artist, Nathalia Edenmont, who kills cats, mice, doves, RABBITS, and other animals, mutilates their bodies, and then takes their photographs. She's on exhibit, among other places, at the Wetterling Gallery in Sweden. She has taken the top halves of five white mice and made them into finger puppets. She beat a cat to death with a stick. At the risk of being the bad guy here, I really don't see the distinction between that and thisThe only difference seems to be that she used pet type animals instead of cows ( ... )

I didnt ever say I wasnt a hypocrite. Though I do try not to eat meat. And I try to buy all non leather belts. I would never own a leather couch, or a car with leather upholstery. I have threatened people who talk about killing pets, punched a kid that killed a bug, and hated my father for killing a squirrel and waving it in my face when I was a child. While it may be in hypocrisy that I posted this, I still dont think its right. Regardless of whether or not it makes sense because I eat meat every once in a while or possibly own something that was made of cow. Cats and other such creatures are much more close to my heart, regardless. And I have a few times lost sleep over thinking of such creatures being mistreated.

As you know, you are entitled to your own opinion when replying to any of my entries, and I would never think you a 'bad guy' for having a differing opinion than me.

Just know that what I believe in does contradict itself, and I dont always make sense. but that is how I am. :)

Hypocracy in and of itself is not a deadly sin. Hypocracy reinforced by ignorance is. I honstly think giving into those two traits combined spells our ultimate destruction, overcoming them our salvation.

It is ok to be imperfect. I think the only law of life is that we must always grow, adapt, and change. So long as we keep moving and stay aware, there is hope and fullfillment to be found in life.

BTW I was not condeming you in anyway for signing the petition. I know you are a thinking individual who actually takes more than two seconds to think about issues of moral import rather than just go with what everyone else is doing.

the defense said that she kills them in the most humane way possible. whats true? either way, i dont believe an animal should have to die, if it can be prevented. we cant help that lots of people eat meat or wear furs, we CANT barge into a factory and shut it down forever, but when theres a single girl out there whos killing animals on her own, SOMETHING can be done. whos to say she wouldnt do the same to someone's own pet, maybe move up to donated fetuses, and someday people. killing anything so often is an unhealthy obsession that can lead to voilence towards herself or others. i dont know if im babbling, but this really pisses me off.

Once again I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but someone has already done the "maybe move up to donated fetuses, and someday people" thing... including a fetus.

I found out about this a few months ago maybe it was from LJ, can't remember. I must said it left even jaded old me in a moral quandry. I really had to ask my self some serious questions as to why I found it so revolting at first glance. I am not entirely sure I have still come up with a satisfactory answer to this one. That's what I mean by questioning precepts though.
