An update, pictorial style.
[Recent past]
GraphExpo, huge-ass trade show for the graphic arts industry [manufacturing end primarily],
and apparently significant enough that I was required to wake up at 4:30am on a sunday to
catch a flight to chicago. Highlights:
- Machines larger than my livingroom, and worth many times the cost of my home. Sexy.
- A Starbucks within 50 feet at any given moment.
- Every meal being written off as a business expense.
- The archetypal "down on his luck" homeless guy outside of my hotel with cliche'
story of needing money for his 5 kids and sick wife, while the top of a 40oz
stuck out of his coat pocket. Classy, man.
[24 hours]
Have I previously mentioned that I really love cooking? And steak. And wine.
So, as you can probably imagine given the image above, it was a fantastic night.
Additionally, much like champagne, wine does not make for a good lubricant.
[Near future]
A sneak preview of my halloween costume. Anyone who can accurately identify it
wins a fabulous prize of my choosing.
Segue: Masquerade in Ghent, friday night.
Any other norfolk/nearby people planning to participate? I will be the thing resembling the above
image, accompanied by a scantily clad pink+black female pirate. Hoping for it to turn into an Eyes Wide Shut-esque
anonymous orgy, but I'm not overly optimistic.
