I'm usually too nauseous to consider drinking anything whilst I have a migraine. I do find that the pain will start to ease once I've thrown up. After that I just shut myself away in a darkened room and try to stay still. I rarely get to take any painkillers for them as I wake up already at the nausea stage and by then it's too late.

By a strange coincidence, I got a diagnosis of migraine from my doctor yesterday, and now have a triptan prescription to try out. But I don't get unusually thirsty.
