Arlington

I don't know how many of you know this, but my brother-in-law is one of the very few and very special sentinels, or guards at the tomb of the unknown soldier at Arlington National Cemetary in Washington DC. honestly, i thought so too, then hearing the stories of what they go through to get to be a guard and then getting to see it first hand and go in to their barracks, it's a once in a lifetime opportunity, and a special memory i will always carry with me. they deserve so much more respect and adoration than they get for doing what they do.

I saw a barracks presentation about what they did in their training and all the stuff they had to complete to become guards. Absolutely tremendous.

1. yes, he's a steller guy to be chosen for such an honor
2. when my dad dies, he has the choice to be burried there or not.
2b. I hope he opt's out...I'd rather see him resting @ home in OR.

right now I am on vacation in CA.

most of the time I'm in TN where the army has me now.
