Things are looking up, things are looking out.

So I'm not entirely sure how to feel about life as of late. I'm still so deep in debt that if I think about it too hard I want to cry, but my family is trying to help and it seems like things might get better. Having a job has helped my outlook so much, I can't even begin to describe ( Read more... )

LOVE! For what it's worth, I really believe that the things you want to change are not (definitely not all, anyway) who you are. I've had to change a lot of things about WHERE I am, but I really feel that as I have removed aspects I didn't like from my life, I have begun to really see myself more clearly (still, of course, have a few persistent hangers-on I'd like to get rid of. Terror of Letting People Understand Me, I'm looking at you).

If you EVER want someone to talk to, or tell something to, I offer my (electronic, sadly, unless you have skype or I return from China) ear. I'd love to just talk to you more often, and will happily respect your request to not ask how it's going.

ps: I am also pretty awful at opening up to people, so if you'd ever care to play the We Both Know There's More Going On Than This But Neither Of Us Wants To Say Anything, Let's Stare At Each Other Until We Both Feel Like Idiots And Force Ourselves To Say Something Real game, you'd find me a worthy and willing opponent.

again: LOVE!

I wish I were still a student! D: I'm not sure what your situation is, but at this point I would suggest trying to be a student FOREVER. And then die of old age before you're expected to pay back them loans. ;P

Good luck with your shrink--another resource I'm beginning to miss--and other matters of self-improvement! I hear that it's always good to have a Plan, despite what the Joker said about having plans (psst, I'm pretty sure he was lying; you can't mess with a city so royally without having planned things out! so yaaay, aspirations).

How would your life change if you didn't go to school? Do you need the degree for any of the job options you have? Is it worth the thousands of dollars? That's how I made my decision over whether or not to go back. I weighed my options and decided that the debt wasn't worth the piece of paper. I can easily get an eighty-dollar certificate in phlebotomy and that'll get me further in a job I kind of enjoy than a $40,000 degree in fuck-all.

Now, if you want to become a high school English teacher, I'd suggest at least getting a teaching certificate. But anymore, undergrad degrees aren't worth the paper they're printed on. :\
