One last goodbye.

I wasn't really sure what to do when we finally reached the hotel. What were we there for, anyway? Faith had never specified... but I guess it felt right, going there. I wanted to get one last look at the place, anyway. Maybe see if I'd left anything behind... or if maybe my dad had. Now that everyone was gone... it would have been nice to have ( Read more... )

"Well... I guess this it it."

I looked out the window at the hotel. Normally I ain't scared of nothin', but goin' in this place? Gotta say, I wasn't lookin' forward to it. Whole lotta memories goin' on there. Last time I was here, I did that whole mind trip thing with Angel. Seein' all that connected us more than we already was. He was the one person in my life that never gave up on me. And I never forgot that. Never would either.

"Yeah, guess it is."

I gave a slight grin, slidin' out of the car and lettin' my boots hit the sidewalk. I shoved my hands into my pockets and walked over by Connor. My eyes still lookin' at the hotel, I couldn't shake the feelin' that somethin' wasn't right. Suck it up Faith, you ain't no pussy. I could do this. Wasn't that hard. Right?

"Think the doors will still be open?'

"Don't see why not. I mean, unless someone else beat us to the punch. If they are locked, I'm sure we can figure out a way in."

Givin' him a smirk, I took a deep breath and nodded before we started walkin' up to the door.

"We might have to kick some ass in here. Ain't really sure what's goin' on. But....let's do this thing."

I couldn't help smirking just a little bit. Faith really seemed to like the idea of having to hand some baddies their asses when we walked through those doors. Hey, at least she enjoyed her life's profession and all that. Being a Slayer, it was only appropriate that she enjoy her slaying. "Hey, I'm ready," I told her, looking back to the doors. I hadn't brought a weapon with me, but I knew I was more than capable of taking care of business with my bare fists.

Taking a deep breath, I went on and walked up to the double-doors that lead into the lobby. Reaching out to try the handle, I found that the doors were, indeed, unlocked. Huh. Convenient, if nothing else. Glancing back to Faith, I shrugged before pushing my way through, assuming she would follow me inside. Walking through to the lobby, I saw that not only had the lights been left on... but there were people there.

People who weren't exactly strangers ( ... )

"Uh... hi."

Says a voice I don't actually know -- we're getting new people now? -- only this voices sounds just the tiniest bit familiar, so color me confused. I turned around slowly to see a kid I think I should know standing with... Faith?

"Princess, what the heck brings you here?" I asked, and not that I wasn't pleased to see her, but "And who's the tall dark and broody looking standing next to you?" He sort of reminds me of Angelkins, just by looking at him.

"Don't tell me something's up already. I haven't been around long enough, give me a bit to get my connections back before you spring something, wouldya?"

"And who's the tall dark and broody looking standing next to you?"

Lorne didn't remember me...? Oh. Of course he didn't. He wasn't there when Wesley broke the Orlon Window... he didn't have any idea who I was. Wasn't sure if that was a good thing or a bad thing. Why wasn't he dead like all the others were? I guess Faith never mentioned Lorne being there at the end of the battle. I didn't think he would be. Lorne's not really the fighter-type. Not to say he's a coward, but... well, he sucks at sports.

I just cleared my throat a little and waved, deciding to let Faith take the floor, since she was the one Lorne recognized. "Hi. I'm Connor. Friend of Faith's," I told him, sinking my hands into my pockets.

"Don't tell me something's up already. I haven't been around long enough, give me a bit to get my connections back before you spring something, wouldya?"

Yeah. I was totally gonna let Faith field that one. Spring away, Slayer.
