"Sounds like Wes does too."

Wes does what too, I asked silently, but the quite meaningful looks that kept centering around Connor did a good deal of answering. So something had happened regarding Cyvus Vail's spell that had reconstructed reality on Connor's behalf. I had always operated under the assumption that once ( Read more... )

"The office, at least. Considering everything that's happened in the last few years, I think the ownership of that office is in a bit of question."

"I think I'll always consider it yours."

We were at our best when Wesley was the one doing the leading in this dusty little office space. Angel Investigations was doing fairly well, Connor was everyone's favorite Gerber baby, and we were all one big happy family.

No wonder it didn't last.

"So, we're back from the dead, Illyria is gone, and we've just lost Gunn. And apparently, this is all thanks to the Powers That Be. Do you have any inkling of just what the point of all this is? Anything resembling a vision?"I wish I could offer him something to go on, but all I have is the information that I already gave them. I'm as deep in the dark on this as everyone else is ( ... )

"I think I'll always consider it yours."

I smirked back at Cordelia.

"Thank you. And to be honest, I sort of always will, too. Those were good days."

The nostalgic gleam in Cordy's eyes told me that she was thinking similar thoughts. Lord, how far we'd come, and, in a lot of ways, how far we'd fallen. Things between us all had become fractious and strained in quiet, subtle ways. And we'd changed; we'd all changed so much since then.

Not that this was really the time or place for reminiscing. We still had a major crisis on our hands. Plus, the situation of our collective resurrection was completely untenable until we found out more about it.

"I'm not even sure that I'm the seer of choice for the Powers."Asking Cordelia if she'd had a vision had been a long shot, I knew, but it had been worth a try. Still, the question raised itself-- if we were still intended to champion the cause of the Powers That Be, where were we without a conduit for information? Were we sent back completely blind ( ... )

"Angel? You think your powers might have been transferred permanently to his body?"

If that's not what I said, it's what I meant. When I said goodbye I wasn't planning on sealing the deal with a kiss, and I sure as hell wasn't thinking about my visions. It was about me, and Angel, now he could end up paying for my stupid mistake.

I can't do anything for me.

"If that's so, then why hasn't he been contacted yet? Surely what we're going through now counts as a serious problem."Seers don't get contacted, they get visions. My first one made me blow an audition. The Powers don't like giving warnings or making contact, they just throw something out there and leave it up to us to figure out what to do about it. If Angel does have my powers, he won't know it until the first one hits ( ... )

"You think they'd what, phone? Send him an email? Wesley, if Angel was permanently affected... first of all there's nothing we can do. And second, we won't know until one of us gets a vision."I made a show of sniffing and pouting just a bit for effect ( ... )
