I walked back on inside, figurin' Faith would follow me, and sighed as I took another drag. Not much had changed 'round here since we'd gone out t'get some fresh air... so t'speak. I did notice the door t'the office had been shut tight, and so's I made my way on over and opened it up without askin', seein' Percy and Sexy yabberin' away

He turned around and took off, headin’ back in. Didn’t even give me a chance to answer.
“Guess I will then.”
I laughed to myself, followin’ behind him. Boy looked like he was on a serious mission, marchin’ up to Wes’ door like he did. Wonder what that was about? Guess it’s a fuckin’ mystery just like the rest of the shit goin’ on here.
"Business, eh? I'll leave you two alone then if..."
He was ‘bout to shut the door back when I finally caught up to him. I peeked through the crack, seein’ Wes and Cor makin’ with some serious talkage. I cocked my head to the side, gettin’ ready to ask Spike what the deal was, when he pushed the door back open. Kinda hard too.
"No. On second thought, I won't leave you alone. What the bloody hell is goin' on 'round here? Angel's got some brat kid son? Blue's up and left us, Gunn's...... dead. Nothin' is makin' much sense. Me and Faith couldn't figure out why our stories didn't match up exactly, neither, so's maybe it' ( ... )

Hiding? I don't consider it hiding. We're discussing our issues in the privacy of an office. Privacy is a constitutional right, and besides that, everyone else saw us sneak in here anyway. If we're hiding, we're not doing a good job of it.
I was about to get up when the door swung up, revealing Spike. Who else would be rude enough storm in like that? Faith, who happens to be right behind him.

Me and Faith couldn't figure out why our stories didn't match up exactly, neither, so's maybe it's time t'be talkin' t'the ones 'round here who actually seem t'know what the fuck is goin' on!"I'm not going to yell at him. We just started getting along again, and while raising my voice and calling him on his ( ... )

And right on cue, Faith joined the vampire in the doorway. I crossed my arms, starting to form the beginning of a response. Cordelia, though, had a more immediate comment to make, of course.
"You think it makes sense to us? You're wrong. And let me tell you ( ... )

I opened my mouth t'say somethin', thought better of it, and shut it. Bullocks. Didn't wanna fuck things up with Cordy, not right now, but I had no answers t'anythin' and I hadn't known who else t'ask.
'Course, I wasn't 'bout t'be tellin' them that, not right now...
Somewhat glad Faith was here behind me t'back me up on this issue.
"Look, I'm not askin' 'bout the past few years, just tryin' t'wrap my head 'round the idea that Blue would go and..." I shut my eyes and sighed. Yeah, so much for me keepin' my mouth shut. "Fine, so we're all in the bloody dark, then? Is that it?"
I walked over t'the desk and leaned against it. "I saw we vote on a new leader, then. Cuz Angel is bringin' us shit ( ... )

I couldn't help but give Spike a wry smile and nod. Honestly, I hadn't really given it much of a thought, whether or not Spike was in for the duration. He'd more than proven himself to be his own man and his own hero. Spike had stood up to be counted with us, and it hadn't occurred to me to think otherwise.
Glad to see I could be right about some things.
"At least you managed to finish your part of the mission. I got killed before I could kill that old bastard Vail. But we do what we can, right?"
Now Faith, on the other hand, was more of a wild card. I didn't, by any stretch of the imagination, not count her as being as much a force for good as anyone else. What I did believe was that she could be mercurial and restless, and might choose open freedom for standing in place.
“Sure why not. Can’t really say I’m keen on the whole suicide mission or whatever, but the superhero thing? Count me in. It’s my job ( ... )

"I had a vision. Illyria's at Wolfram & Hart and it looks like she's going to be working for them."
"Harmony seems to be our only witness. Spike, perhaps you should accompany Cordelia on her, ah, interrogation-- seeing as how you both are familiar with the girl?"
Good thing Cordy gave me that bit o' warmth from her touch. I was findin' I didn't like all this shit so much and really missed it when it was just her and me arguin' back and forth with a door between us.
That's cuz it's what I'm good at. Bein' a hero? Yeah, well... like Wes pointed out, real heroes die. Guess that's why Gunn was...
Shit, not gonna think that, not gonna think that. Not gonna fuckin' sit 'round broodin' like the ponce all day long.
"Great. So's we got ourselves a Slayer t'help out, Blue over at Evil, Inc., and Harm..." I sighed. "Yeah, fine, Wes. You," I added, pointin' a finger at him as I pulled Sexy up t'me, "better soddin' thank me for this later ( ... )

I shook my head. Even after a year, I still couldn't fathom much of how Spike's mind worked. "Thank you for what--"
And then he kissed Cordelia. If I still wore glasses, they would've gone flying across the room, thanks to my eyes springing from their sockets. I was entirely floored by the sight.
"Right. So's the Slayer and Watcher are off t'the body t'investigate, and the vampire and his love--- uh... and the seer are off t'strangle Blondie."Spike and Cordy departed, leaving me completely slack-jawed. I rubbed my eyes as if they might be at fault, but still saw them hand-in-hand outside the door. I glanced up at Faith, as if to ask her what the hell was going on, but thought better of it ( ... )
