Isn't that exactly the purity of "unrequited" love? That you love because it is in you to love, and because it elevates and inspires you to do good - not because it matters whether someone else "loves you back?"

It shouldn't be confused with attachment or obsession, which the obsessed call "love," but which is in fact a demand on another person, and a limitation on the self.

We don't talk, in serious terms, of non-flying cows or unweak strength. We don't talk of these things because they are the way they should be. It is the same with unrequited love. Love cannot expect requite, so the notion of love unrequited is an unnessecary redundancy.

Love does not need requite, so it would be unfair to judge it on such a basis, which is what we do when we think of requited versus unrequited love. (excuse the babbling, I've not had breakfast yet)

thank you, T. You have helped me with the very thing I've been battling with as of late.
Turns out my pain has resulted from unrequited passion, in fact, I've been suffering from the total lack of acknowledgment of my feelings...
I can satisfy what I need from this situation by realizing that it is beyond my control to feel the way I do because love is free, and that loving is enough.
