I'm happy to say that things have improved since my last post. No new kitten to replace Nicholas yet, but we'll see what happens on that front in the coming months.

1. "Insurgent" This is the sequel to "Divergent" by Veronica Roth. Dystopia is hot in YA, but this sequel works. My guesses for the title of the last in the trilogy are "Emergent", "Resurgent", and "Convergent". Anyone else have good "gent" words that might work?

2. "Bitterblue" The sequel to "Graceling" and companion to "Fire" by Kristin Cashore. This one was a long time coming and while I felt it took a little while to pick up speed, that worked within the dramatic construct of the book (ie trying to solve ciphers and puzzles). Still not enough Po and Katsa for me, but you can't have everything I guess.

3. "The Avengers" We took the kids to see a matinee on Saturday. While I didn't think it was as good as the original "Iron Man", it's definitely in second place on my Marvel movie list. I must admit that I had my reservations about a Joss-directed film, but I think he did a good job with the ensemble and he managed to imbue the action with some nice character development. I did find myself looking for Jossisms though and they were definitely there to be found. lol

4. After a bout of unseasonably warm weather (no 90s, I'm nowhere near ready for you to set up shop) we had a huge storm front come through over the weekend and high temperatures are now back in the upper 70s. I'm going to revel in that for as long as I possibly can.

5. After much waffling, I finally made my reservation to go to my college reunion at the end of the month. While I'm still in denial over the fact that it's been 25 years since I graduated, I'm feeling nostalgic and looking forward to seeing the campus again. I hear New Haven is *much* nicer these days than it was when I was in there.

6. I finally broke down and bought a small share in a CSA. The one I picked also offered a flower share. While I know that the fresh produce is nourishment for the body, the bouquet of peonies that were part of my first week's take were nourishment for my soul.

Honorable mentions go to "Sherlock" and me arranging for a cleaning service to come later this week.

How's life treating you all?
