Well last week I took a big step in changing one aspect of my life, I got Lasik done.  Before the procedure I wasn't nervous at all but my heart was pounding like mad when I actually lay down on the table waiting for them to begin firing a laser into my eye.  Once it was underway though my body and mind accepted the fact that there was absolutely ( Read more... )

How much did it cost? It's not super-high on my list of Stuff I Want, but it would be nice to not have to deal with contacts or glasses.

It ranges based on type, but for the newest most advanced and longest insured type it is 32man for both eyes. But they gave me a 5man off coupon, which I also now have for friends, so 27man. Ends up only being 26man for surgery as though it isn't required you are recommended to have a DNA test to be sure you don't have a type of eye disease that can appear only after having the surgery. The test is not required, but if you do choose to opt out (it costs 1man, which is then taken off of surgery price) you give up responsibility should you go through with the surgery and something does happen. Apparently it's a disease that only affects 1 in a 1000 people and though I never translated it sounded a lot like cataracts from the description ( ... )
