Another fic! This time, it's for
yukinoomoni~ I, uh, apologize for the randomness of it. It just kinda happened that way. It's really not the best, now that I think about it. Meh.
Fic: Never a Dull Moment
Prompt: A day in the life
Character/Pairing: Suki--AtLA
“What should we do with the intruders?”
Suki, her warrior paint standing out against the dark of her surroundings, quipped, “We could boil them in oil like certain other villages.” Her girls grimaced at the idea, and she couldn’t help but laugh. “I was just joking, I promise!”
One girl, Mei, gave her a look. “That wasn’t the best way to ease the tension, Suki.”
“Sorry, sorry. I just feel silly right now.”
The other Kyoshi Warriors giggled, forming a group away from their leader. Suki squirmed self-consciously; she had a vague idea of what amused them.
With a cough, she stood. “A-anyway! Let’s go show those backwater rebels a thing or two about us. Maybe they’ll get to stay in a nice cell tonight, or maybe they’ll swim with the Unagi. Either way, we should get this over with.”
Ty Lee bounced by her side, her grin wider than the rest. “Sokka’s coming today, isn’t he?”
Her eyebrow twitched. “Yes. What of it?”
“I wonder how excited he’ll be this time? He’s always so cute when he gets to see you!”
The idea of an excited Sokka made Suki smile. He was absolutely adorable, especially when they hadn’t seen each other in a while. Then, of course, she realized that Ty Lee was the one talking about how cute he was. “Er, yeah. He’s a bit of a dork, I guess.”
The acrobat’s smile almost cracked her face. Almost. Why was she overly happy? It was a little irritating. “Don’t be modest! If it were me, I’d be proud to call him my boyfriend! Sometimes I wonder about you, Suki…!”
Behind them, the other girls were giggling louder. Suki was losing control, and this displeased her. She liked to joke and have fun, but not at the expense of herself. She was the leader, and she wanted at least a little respect. Especially when she was trying to hide her own excitement.
Suki turned around and narrowed her brows. “After we’re done, I think we should all have a late night training session. Ty Lee is going to teach us more about the pressure points, aren’t you, Ty Lee?”
Groans could be heard. She felt an odd sense of accomplishment. “But I have a date tonight!” her Fire Nation friend whined, tugging on her leader’s arm in protest.
“Well, you should have told me beforehand,” she replied with a shrug.
“Meanie! What about Sokka? Don’t you want to spend time with him?”
She laughed. “Maybe he’ll join us.”
One of the warriors toward the back commented aloud: “Let’s make him wear our uniform again!” Ty Lee gaped at the very idea of it; the other girls attempted to go into detail about said moment.
As the group filled with chuckles and jokes, Suki felt more at ease--which was, in itself, amusing, because they were going to confront a few rebels in mere moments. Fans heavy in her hands, she smiled. Never a dull moment in the life of a Kyoshi Warrior, and she wouldn’t have it any other way.
