It sounds like everyone had a great time at the Hallowe'en Ball. It almost makes me wish that they'd had more balls when I was at school. The Yule Ball was so amazing...too bad so much has changed since then. About the only thing that hasn't, apparently, are the creepy Slytherin couples that happen because of it. Inbreeding does not cause mutations, in any way, shape or form. The effects of inbreeding basically boil down to an increased chance of both parents having the same recessive gene to pass onto their offspring. And given that a hidden recessive could cause anything from haemoglobin Barts to red hair, this could mean a lot or absolutely nothing.
