It is finally fall in Texas. You know that Margaret Cho show where she is talking about her mother reading a pornographic publication entitled "Ass-Master," and she imitates her mom turning a page and then slamming the magazine shut while exclaiming, "I was'n ready for that

i'm making soups too! because i am just that way (trying to stuff everything into one cooking container.)

black bean soup, which involves pureed beans.
adzuki bean and brown rice soup.
cabbage and lentil.
(soon)potato leek.

i will try chowder at some point.

also there is a white bean soup that involves sinking crusts of day-old bread into the finished product. it's called tuscan ribollito and if you want you can also add parmesan. i haven't tried that yet, but matthew tried it for me and he says it's great, but remember to put the lid on the blender when you puree the beans. (thanks, matthew!)
