Why are floppy disks called this when they are indeed not floppy at all?

b/c they actually used to be floppy disks back when they were 5 and a quarter inches (I think that's right) they were floppy. And I suppose b/c it was the basically the same technology and same purpose they just transfered the name.

haha yea I know... they were floppy back in the day when Oregon Trail was cutting edge technology

soooo how about:

What do people in China call the nice plates that they eat off of only when special company comes over?

I used to play Oregon Trail on one of those big floppy floppy disks too!!! I loved that game!!!
