December. I didn't think that I would spend a second winter here. "A new start". There's little point a difficulty in thinking like that when individuals are returned at the apparent whim of the scientists'.

general comments work better, not really interested, pretending to be a normal person, being surprisingly practical, to avoid shocks, avoiding personal issues

Plumbing quite aside, there seems to be some dearth of information concerning even the nature and availability of the water supplies.

As for your last question: judging by the constant traffic and what seems to be a handful of longtime residents like yourself, it is something of both.
