That very face stuck onto Christoph's mind, never to diminish like the others-- although beautiful, not as wondrous as her's.
He had not yet told Dreyu the real reason of them coming down to the hard grounds, nor the reason he had chose to make partnership with him in the first place. That must be sealed tight in himself, Christoph thought. Until the time comes.
"Why, aren't you the quiet one all of a sudden?" Dreyu questioned out of thin air. Afterall... the air they had started to breathe was quite new to them again.
"Yes, I know. I've just been wondering, or daydreaming, as some may call it."
"Better you open your eyes- if you miss this you know what'll happen."
"I know." Christoph ignored, or didn't even comprehend much of what he just heard. He kept dreaming, wondering, searching for that very face... once again.
Christoph walked through the busy streets with Dreyu, his companion. He glanced at the sky every so often, only to see the orange sky of a setting sun. They walked to the rocks that led down to the water. They looked over the water and into the sun. So bright...so distant...it reminded him of her. When they were standing at that exact spot. He remembered looking into her eyes. He remembered kissing her lips.
