Dude, don't even mess with someone who is still in love with someone else. Trust me, it does not work. If you really want to be with her just give her time and don't pressure her to feel any certain way. The fact is that she probably won't be ready to date anyone but him for a while, so my suggestion is that even if she says okay lets be together, don't do it right now. If in the future she wants to be with you then go for it, but right now I'd say just be friends with her and don't stress about a relationship.
