So, yes, i am an idiot, and I have never used bit torrents ever to download and watch stuff, but I want to put movies/shows/etc. on my i-pod...sooooo, who knows how to use bit torrents and wants to explain it me, and tell me where to download a client and how to find stuff, etc. I will be eternally grateful!

okay, i'll try my best here.

i use bitlord. (http://www.bitlord.com/)

basically once it's installed you can go over to mininova.org

look up an album and where it says on the page to download the torrent
click the link and select to open it in bitlord instead of downloading it.
that should pop up a window of where you can save the mp3s,
and allow you to choose which tracks in the torrent you want.

once it's complete you can either keep seeding (uploading to other people to enjoy)
or shut the torrent off or delete it, so you can move the files or delete it if the disc sucks.

then as you get into more 'elite' sites, they have a ratio to follow.
aka you need to upload as much as you download,
which tends to be easy as long as you leave the torrent running.

Thanks. I'll download bitlord today. i did download the bittorrent client, but that kinda sucks. I had the basic idea of how they work, but after i download movies or videos or music, do i have to convert them at all?

you wouldnt have to convert the movie, so long as you download the ipod ready version. alot of them will say ipod in the title so you know its ready to go.

keep in mind that bit torrent can take time. you need to stay connected sometimes for the course of a couple days. did you guys get dsl or cable internet?
