Here, in the Far South, getting novels in English is completely random, depending, I suppose, on what the importer (there's only one of significant size) knows for certain he can sell or what he gets on sale or what the stars dictate. Oh, she's the woman who ranted about fanfiction. I've never read her myself; that is all I know about her XD

I could type spiced_wine's words one by one and they would echo my thoughts. Basically she called fanfic writers criminals, comparing us to something outrageous like rapists. For all I know, even if her books are masterpieces, I won't be buying them.

No, nor will I Nelyo. Good fanfic is as good (or better) than the best published authors anyhow. And there are authors I like who support fanfic: I'd rather support them.

Yes!!! Now I remember all the story! Of course, I completely agree with you. My last attempts at reading published authors left me quite disappointed.I think that reading fanfic has sharpened my standards!
