Um. Hi again, everyone! I just have a quick question for all of you.

[ A quick question that she's been mentally debating for a while now. ]

So....how do you decide when it's time to use an evolutionary stone? I have two for two of my Pokemon, but I'm not sure when I should use them!

And I guess there probably isn't a 'wrong choice' or anything, but ( Read more... )

Hmm... I've been told that some Pokémon who evolve using stones stop learning new moves after they have evolved. But I don't believe that holds true for all of them. So I suppose my first question would be, how satisfied are you with their move sets?

I think they both have a good amount of moves! I mean, Angelo hasn't learned a new one in a while, but I've been training them both for a few months now.

Well, if you're satisfied with the moves they know, and if they are ready to evolve themselves, I think it would be a good idea. May I ask what species they both are?

One is my starter, a Growlithe! And the other is an Eevee.

I believe that there isn't any specific time. You can evolve them using a stone whenever you like.

Is there a recommended time, though? I'm trying to decide if I should do it now or not...

Well, what Pokemon do you want to evolve, and what level is it at?

I have a Growlithe at level....70, I think, and a Eevee that's not quite so highly leveled up. Around 40, maybe....?

I just used mine as soon as I could.

Was your Pokémon happy afterward?

Well, I only ever got one. And I used it on my Kizaru -- Sunkern. Now he's a Sunflora and he seems pretty happy, but he laughs at me a lot. It's kind of like the real Admiral actually.

I'm glad. So he didn't change at all, other than the whole physical thing?

[Heather pauses before she responds, actually reaching into her pack and taking out the warm Firestone she's been carting around with her for almost a year now... hasn't used it... and still doesn't want to, but... can't bring herself to throw it away for some reason.]

[Then she hits the feed button.]

I guess you just use it any time you want to, really...

...Yeah, I guess. I'm just making sure that it won't be harmful or anything!

[ Which is one way of saying that she's a little nervous about using them. ]

Heh, I don't think they hurt 'em... least I've never heard anything to that effect.

Then I guess it just matters if they feel ready!

Mm, doesn't it depend on the pokemon?

Does it really? I didn't know that!

Well, of course, there's the emotional aspect to think about.

On the other hand, if you think about it strategically, there are some moves that a pokemon can only learn if they're at a certain stage in their evolution.

I've heard about the moves thing....but I think both my Pokémon are pretty strong now!

It's just the emotional part I'm worried about...
