Have decided to enter this year. Should be funnnn. And it's at a good time of year as well - starts pretty much on my return from England and so I should have pretty much the whole month free (work permitting of course) to just crack on with it. Anyone who's done it before got any tips/strategies?

Not quite surrounded by French all day every day: it's more like a 50/50 mix here. Yep, still at same school as last year. It's fine but would like to move to a closer one once I have my driving licence. Just coming to the end of school trip now - it's been quite fun, I went kayaking today :) Don't really want to socialise much with colleagues to be honest - many of them are much older and a lot of the younger ones I don't like. Plus, my social life just needs a general facelift anyway so it would be nice to know people just generally from elsewhere :) And how are things with you? x

Ooooh co-running it eh? Good luck - wouldn't want to do that!
That's even though we're a much smaller school - we had about the same number of kids on our trip but that was Years 10-13 put together (albeit not with all students attending from those year groups - think about 20 stayed behind). Ours wasn't as exciting as yours sounds: the sports group's activities didn't seem very varied (they did canoeing, kayaking, rowing, sailing, and cycling, and played tennis, basketball and pingpong in their free time sometimes). The kids seemed to think this year's destination was not as good so I will definitely give it a go next year as well if still at EAB.

When is your half term then? Ours starts on October 25, so only two more weeks of teaching before then :)

As for social life, already seems to be picking up thanks to NaNoWriMo as the French group doing it hold meetups and write-ins throughout Oct-Dec so that may help in itself :)
