How do you know how much is too much?

Do you ever feel like you know you should stop wishing? You know it would just make everything easier? But no matter how hard you try you just can't stop. That's where I am right now. I just wish I had someone to give me the answers, or just to fill the void I keep wasting my wishes on....well there I go wishing again
