The Hobbit by JRR Tolkien

Read the book for Children's Literature class at Delta. Glad I read it so I can recommend it to some of my students that would probably like it. How did you like The Hobbit? I've started reading it a couple of times, but never really got into it. Now I've swiped the audio version from the library, hoping that will be better. I just put it on my ipod (don't tell anyone), but am still hesitant about giving it another go.

And I think I might have actually gasped when I saw you hadn't read To Kill a Mockingbird before now. Scandalous.

Once forced to read it, I kinda liked it. Bilbo, actually, reminds me of you a bit...not the hairy feet, obviously, but you are a fan of your creature comforts. So am I. :) I guess I'm a bit hobbit-like, too.

And I know...GHS must have been one of the only schools that never taught it, at least in my classes! I am glad this forced me, I get what the hype is about and I think my freshmen are liking it!
