Alright, I guess it's about time I started to write again, first of all I would like to thank Bren and Dragan and everyone else that attended the birthday party "shindig". Thanks for the cake, and thanks for taking the time to put it all together Bren. Second of all, Westin, I don't know if you read my journal, but I very carefully read yours.... ( Read more... )

Perhaps you fail to realize that there are things called "cheat" days. Once in a while, you indulge. If you always eat the same things on your diet, you're going to burn out and it's going to bore the shit out of you eventually, trust me. Eating a hamburger is not going to make you gain 5 pounds. I'm doing a no carb diet myself, and it's hell because I eat nothing other than protein really. Tuna all day. Fish all day. Chicken all day. Other meats all day. No potatoes. No fruits. No milk. Etc etc. Once every few days I'll have a nice big bowl of ice cream. It's a reward, I eat really well and stick to my diet for 3 or 4 days, I get to have that yummy ice cream. Sure, it may be an exra 400 or 500 calories, but that's like 30 minutes of cardio. 500 calories is 1/7 of a pound, BIG DEAL. Being faithful to a diet is sticking to it and averaging your meals so that they're good for you in the long run, one burger or hot dog in the course of a week is not going to harm you. first, hun, you NEED to be eating more than once a day. for so many reasons. and i was there when the doctor told you to eat 5-7 times a day. i dont want to sit in the ER with you ever again, and i hope you dont want to be there. second, you need meat. remember the iron pills the doctor made you take? how sick they made you? a hamburger patty will not spoil any of the work you have done. and yes, i know how hard you have been working. and i dont want to sound like im attacking you, but i dont want you making yourself sick.

Holy crap Mari you only eat once a day? What are you thinking? That's totally not healthy. You need protein for your muscles. You're not getting adequate vitamins and minerals from one meal a day. You're not going to lose much weight that way either, you're metabolism is going to drop really low, and when you do eat more than once a day you're going to put on weight really fast and easily. Several small meals is the way to go. Hell, knowing that, eating that hamburger would have done you more good than not eating it ( ... )

I may not have a degree in sports medicine or be a personal trainer, but I have enough common sense and knowledge to know a lot of what works and what doesn't. Want to borrow some of the magazines I own? Each issue has several dishes you can cook that are healthy and good for weight loss and tasty. I myself haven't tried it becuase I don't cook lole but I know you Dragan and Jenn cook a lot from what I hear so maybe it'll be just another ting you can cook.
