Conference

I am so sad that I will not be able to attend "Mapping Global Inequalities" in Santa Cruz. Part of it is that I am unable (or not willing) to pay 250 dollars for the conference, but I also feel like I shouldn't be there since the conference is directed towards Graduate students. As for the conference cost, why can't you go as a student? Don't you still have a .edu email address and an ID card? I can't imagine that they'd check too hard. The student cost is probably less than half the non-student cost.

And you should be wherever you want to be. Conferences are just places for people who want to learn and meet people with common interest congregate. Really, the only difference between you and a new grad student is your load debt.
