Don't talk to me about verbal promises, I was verbally promised so much work related and I didn't get a thing. The only thing that happened was that I was yet again very disappointed.
I work hard and do more than I'm supposed to do and each time I get screwed. Sorry for the strong language. It just feels that way.
Over and over I'm telling myself don't do it, don't do more than you're supposed to do, they'll dump you either way when they want to, and still I end up doing it again.
Times are rough these days, I was without work for a year, last year and it's really hard to get a new job.Now I have started a new job and just got my contract renewed for a year.I do hope you get what you were promised!

It's always the hard working people that get screwed over, but you can't help yourself because that is just the kind of person you are. You would't feel right with yourself if you were slacking off.

And for the record, I have no issues with strong language. Swear away!

Haha! Good! I never know meeting new people ;)
You're right each time I tell myself this time you will do like all the others, but I can't because I'm too passionate about my work.
