Hermione had done everything she could to avoid the Burrow since the war ended. She'd seen Ginny from time-to-time, but that was always somewhere else. They'd meet somewhere for lunch, or go shopping one day. She never set foot near the Burrow for risk of running into Ron. Today, however, this was where Ginny wanted her to come. Molly Weasley had invited her and Harry over for dinner and Ginny had insisted on Hermione's presence as a buffer for Ginny and Harry. Things weren't fantastic with them. As the sun got lower and lower, Ron realized he had been sitting outside for a few hours. He knew that if he didn't check in with his mom soon, she'd start to worry. At some point, he would have to get a place of his own, but in light of the current circumstances, Ron hadn't been able to bear bringing it up. He didn't want to put his mother through any more pain right now if he could help it
