Very well expressed sentiments. I loved a few lines, maybe especially the last. I think he will succeed in restoring the "position of respect and admiration of the worldwide community". I think this partly because he is more a member of the worldwide community, with family members in Africa and Indonesia. Perhaps we too will now begin to consider people in other countries as family members, and be concerned about what big oil is doing in Africa, rather than being grateful that they are raping the environment and installing killer regimes far enough away that we don't have to see or care.
As for big business, especially the corrupt banking and insurance industries, I'm not sure whether he'll cave like Hillary Clinton did in the face of their tremendous power--a power great enough to openly extort 700 billion dollars from us. Like he said in his speech--it's not going to be up to him, but to us, to join forces and rely more on one another, and less on those who would profit from our fear and alienation from one another.
