Wasn't the movie supposed to be an actual historical take rather than just a remake of the legends? I thought it was supposed to be the "true" story instead of the usual...

Except as near as anyone can tell Arthur IS legend. There is no historical base for his very EXISTANCE. Near as anyone can tell he was made up of several different people and kings.

From what we learned last year they think he was some Celtic warlord that united tribes to expel the Romans (I think) from Britain.

I still personally like Monty Python's take on the story.

Before the movie started they had the words saying that the movie was an attempt to portray the "real Arthur." I don't know if it's what is supposed to be real or not, I just didn't like the storyline... at least the end of it. With Guinevere fighting in the battle, and the ones that died dying... it was just too... different than what I had originally learned and loved.
