Try getting the window open and flood the room with light, maybe that'll shoo it off. Though honesty I'd try and call animal control, never know what those things can be carrying.

Give these guys a try.

Fairfax County Health Department . . . 703-246-2411

Fairfax County Police Department / Animal Control Violations . . . 703-691-2131

State Game Warden . . . (540) 899-4169

Although, for sweet ironoc punishment, you could alays hit the bat with a bat (baseball)

I called the police department and they sent someone out. The thing ended up hiding under my refrigerator, and it was hard getting it out. But it's finally gone.

Thanks for your help. You gave me the courage to call them.

I have four cats so it wouldn't last long. They've been known to catch bats when they've thinned out the local mouse/rat/bird population enough.
