Really nice chapter! Going from one child to five in the matter of months is a huge step, though I'm sure they've got love enough for all. I'm probably way off in left field, but I'm wondering if there's a connection between the kids and the boy found in the forest. (Also, I'm presuming that Misha would need to check into the kids histories to find out if there was any living relatives or that they were indeed orphans :) )
Oh it's definitely going to be an adjustment that's for sure. I think they have an abundance of love. I started thinking about this as part of the sequel a long time ago. Both my brother and his wife and my sister-in-law and her husband will have to adopt due to medical problems and it occured to me this is where I wanted to go with the story when I was trying to explain to my youngest why the would be adopting.
No there's no connection, the boy's story hit me out of left field and screamed to be included and it gave me a vehicle for Jensen being at the gallery alone that night so it was a 2fer.
Oh I've had that part of the story worked out before I even started writing the first chapter. That part has been taken care of so no worries. Misha's wife will be more intregal to that part than Misha, but he'll have his own work cut out for him.
So happy to see an update in the story and it's good that the kids are with Jensen and Jared now. Jared knows Jensen so well and it was so sweet that he called to find out what would happen with the kids and if they could foster and then adopt them. I hope that the kids get a chance to stay with the guys. It will be interesting to see what the story with the kids is and I wonder will they open up to the guys. Looking forward to reading more soon.
Yes Jared may not have paid a whole lot of undivided attention to Jensen when they were growing up, but he did pay attention to the important things. So he knew exactly how his husband would be reacting and he has a huge capacity for love on his own so it was a given what they would do.
The kids story should be in the next chapter, the boys story won't be for another two or three. I'm working on Family right now but I'll be back to this one soon.
This chapter was so emotional. I want to know how they became homeless but I'm also worried incase its something really bad. Also finding out about the boy Jason found is going to hard as well because he was beaten so badly. I really do hope that Jensen and Jared can take care of Xavier and Brayden because I think they need people who will love them and give them a safe home. Looking forward to more. *hugs*
I think when someone becomes homeless there's always a sad story attached to it, I'd venture a guess that 75% is due to mental health issues. Although that's not the case here.
His story is a lot different from the kids, and I don't know a little more heartbreaking to me. He will have a different set of trust issues.
I really like their library with that wall painting of book-shaped characters and I found myself wishing that I could see the book!skunk for myself *giggles*
Was that based on a real painting or did you make that one up yourself? I think it's awesome, and I could already see Avery bonding with both Brayden and Xavier.
Nope that was all my imagination. I wish I was artistic so I could put down on paper what I saw in my head. :) It just sounded like something that kids would have a blast investigating and discovering the different things in. What kid wouldn't want to sit in that section.
There may be some bumps in the road, or it may go fairly smoothly, but I think Avery will adjust just fine.
