Long live the Kingfish.

I recently got some pictures back from the last game of the season - and the final game of Timmy's career - and thought I'd share them. Hope you enjoy. (And sorry they're so huge.)

Before the game started... I loved this.

One of his final appearances in the on-deck circle...

...and at the plate.

Watching Timmy bat while his name and number were memorialized on the field was a pretty powerful moment. Really drove it home that this was it. But then, I am a sentimental sap, so there ya go.

AK gets a hit.

Timmy's last call to the plate...

His last at-bat...

...and his final walk back to the dugout as an active Angel. It's the end of an era.

I know we were all hoping that he'd get that one last shot when he stepped into the on-deck circle for the last time... and we were all disappointed. Mr. Angel's career is over, but his legacy lives on. He'll always be loved, and he'll never be forgotten. Hopefully we'll continue to see him in some sort of active role with the Angels organization.

Long live the Kingfish.
