For once, Nick was out without his uniform on.

He was, in fact, not even patrolling. Just a civilian out for a walk.

Well, a civilian with a badge and a concealed weapon and...

Well, he was sort of a civilian.

When Ken saw Nick, he got entirely the wrong impression. Which would be why Ken walked up to the officer and greeted him with "Please tell me I've finally found a hook up."

Nick looked over at Ken. "I'm sorry, a hook up for what?"

"...awww, man, you're telling me you've not got any weed?" Ken said. "Dammit, this town is ridiculous."

"You wanted weed?"

Since my Taurus was totaled by a girl falling out of the sky, I need to take the bus. So I'm standing at a bus stop to head into the city...

Where I got a tip on a place to get a good deal on a new car... And possibly, finally, a new project.

Is that the Sheriff? I thought the uniform was actually part of his skin.

"Morning, Morgan," Nick said, his hands in his pockets, trying not to constantly glance around to look for crime.

That might be easier to accomplish since it's standing right in front of him.

"Are you... Feeling all right?"

"Didn't sleep well last night," Nick said. "Thought I'd take a walk, clear my head."

Connor was out jogging, contemplating scenarios to try out in SRF, when he thought he spotted his father lurking in the shade of a tree. He stopped short and blinked. There was no one there.

"The hell?"

As a result, he didn't notice Sheriff Angel at first, until he was almost on top of him.

"Be careful there," Nick said as he caught Connor to stop him.

"Oh! Jeeze, sorry." Connor started. "Sorry, I uh, didn't see you there."

"Are you alright?"

Souji was out for a walk. Well, given that he was in full uniform, sword and all, it was probably more of a 'patrol,' though he didn't exactly have any authority in this town. He was just so used to doing it that he hadn't given the impulse any thought.

Carrying live steel in the street wasn't against the law in 1860s Kyoto. Unfortunately, in Louisiana, it probably was.

"Excuse me sir, but I'm going to need to see a permit for that."

Souji blinked. "Permit...?" At first, he wasn't even sure what the man was refering to.

"Oh! Do I need one? I didn't know." Heck, he didn't even know where to get one.

"All weaponry requires a permit to carry, concealed or otherwise," Nick said. "I'm going to assume you don't have one?"
