Babies and Batman

Jul 05, 2005 08:23

Busy weekend! My cousin Katie had her baby this weekend! 6lbs 8oz and 18" long. I haven't seen pictures yet... Katie had to have a C-section. Her uterus was tipped at a weird angle... Anyway, the baby isn't in any life threatening danger, but they are keeping her in the hospital, because they are worried her liver isn't functioning as well as it ( Read more... )

the romance was forced, and not really needed

Yes! Absolutely, yes!

They could have just as easily told that story with Harvey Dent as the Assistant District Attorney and they would have:
a)Avoided wasting screen time with a pointless sub-plot
b)Avoided the incredibly annoying "Batman (or any other bloody film superhero for that matter) reveals his identity to some random he's just met/has not seen in years" cliche.
c)Nicely set up a third(?) film and established a believable relationship between Batman and Two-face (and the audience too for that matter). Especially if they used the end of the second film (say Joker's arraignment) as the set up for the third film - emotional impact for the people who don't know Harvey and foreshadowing for those who do.

Stupid studio group-written-scripts...

Ok, Sugar, come down. :) See, I know nothing about the Batman World, so the only thing I can really agree on is that yes, it was very cliche for Batman to reveal himself to what's her name, and the way he did it... repeating something she said back to her *groan* Can we all say "over done"? But aside from the bad romance, I liked it. The butler was my favorite. "What's was the point of all those push-ups if you can't even lift a bloody log?!" And then the look Bruce gives me after that... priceless. I also liked Morgan Freemen. He wasn't in it all that much, but he was good when he was, and his toys were fun! ;)

Welcome to the world of Alfred-love.

Alfred can out-deadpan and out-snark the Bat, I challenge you to find anyone in the fandom who doesn't think Alfred is all kinds of awesome.

Gotta love Alfred. He was great. I just love Snarky people (which I'm sure you've figured out by now) and he was great. I just love it when the stoic people pull out the sarcasm. It always seems funnier from someone serious. Don't know why...
