And the hard-working people can get more interesting jobs with more free time, while the lazy ones just get to do the boring stuff nine hours a day and 28 days a week for six months. This lack of freedom should be enough disincentive for them.
Where I live the situation is much more complex and screwed up than that. Many hard working people can't get interesting jobs with more free time because of reasons like inability to get education while working (if someone does not have a means of support while getting an education). "Minimum wage" jobs where I am (those awful 9-hours-a-day jobs) don't provide benefits for health care (which is not affordable where I live except to the very wealthy, even with benefits), and also don't provide sufficient funds for basic survival (food, clothing, housing). This means many "minimum wage" workers work more than one job just to try to survive. Not being able to pay for education, health care, or clothing means that it's impossible to do what it takes to get a better job.
