Computer freezing time = not happiness.

Okay, so my computer has been on the fritz for weeks. I tried doing everything i know of, as well as employed the help of my best friend matt, but to no avail. The time has come to ask those i know for their advice. So, to all of you here who are computer savvy and have the time to help a little old man like myself, i have posted my issue. I doubt it helps much but I've only heard lots of bad things about what Service Pack 2 has done. Not like you can uninstall that easily either...

When i was having freezing problems with my laptop, it ended up being the ram and/or processor. but on my laptop, the ram/processor were under an access panel at the bottom of my laptop, and they were shorted out or weren't connected right, so that may be the problem, but im not a comp expert, thats just what it was for me ^_^

Im testing the ram now, so that might be it.

And Rey, ive heard the same horrible things about SP2. I tested that too, to make sure, but i still got the freezing without it.

Another weird feature about my computers freezing...mozilla firefox refuses to long term save my bookmarks. They delete themselves every couple times i restart my computer. This happened before AND after my format.

This is some weird shit.
