Second watch - a♥r drabble

Hiya.  So I'm a little late.  Sorry.  But I experimented a little!  I don't really do third party POV, well, except for Billy (I love that boy!), so I thought it'd be fun to try my hand at Saul.  I think it works in a gruff XO kind of way and the most awesome of all betas says it's fine! (if she says so, I'm cool!) :)  Hope you guys like it.

Through Saul's eyes you have captured the distinction between The Admiral and Bill, the struggle to find balance between professional responsibilities and personal needs - the things which contribute so critically to making those onerous responsibilities bearable.

And while Saul naturally isn't focussing on this aspect, it is fair to say that Bill isn't nursemaiding The President but Laura. The President knows that The Admiral should be working rather than sitting with her; Laura appreciates having Bill there with her.

Very nicely done and well worth the wait. Thank you.

Oh, he sort of knows, he does see her as Bill's woman after all. But there is that formality in his relationship with Laura, so he rarely sees her as just Laura, I think. Which made it fun to write. I'm happy you liked it. Thank you!

awwwww, nice point of view! bill reading for laura when she's asleep... not even looking at the book so he can watch her ♥ and the scene from saul's only eye perspective still looks damn sweet! XD and a little heartbreaking =( but i love it =)

he's got only an eye, but it's the good one. :) Thank you! I'm glad it still pleases you even when it hurts.

This was beautiful. I love seeing A & R through another character's eyes (eye?), and Saul was the perfect choice to use in this piece.

No, the old man didn’t have time to babysit the president, but he would make sure his friend could have it.

Killer last line.

eye and patch? But yeah, it's different writing from a point of view I'm not used to. I'm just glad it worked and that you liked it. :)
